The Fan Puller simplifies fan removal compared to the use of jaw type pullers. Suggested procedure is to remove fan assembly and sit on a flat surface with the fan up. Soak the end of the fan hub inside the threaded fitting and on the exposed end of the motor shaft with a suitable penetrant. Let sit for a few hours, if possible. Loosen the setscrew on the hub (over the keyway). Attach the large nut of the fan puller to the threaded end of the hub and turn the bolt in toward the motor shaft to pull the fan off the shaft. It is likely that you will need to apply some heat to the fan hub in order to loosen it.
