Indoor Multi-Fuel Boilers

Our Multi-Fuel boilers have the ability to heat homes and commercial spaces varying from 1,000 – 11,000sqft. They are ideal for those searching for a sturdy, long-lasting boiler with the ability to use a variety of fuels. For all the available sizes… Click here

The Multi-Fuel is a no-frills, conventional, hand-fired, updraft boiler. They are created out of ¼ inch steel sheet…

…which allows it to provide comfortable heat to your loved ones for the rest of their lives. Having been manufactured for more than 30 years you can be sure in knowing that you can keep your family warm and save a fortune for many years.

Our signature caste iron grate and our Dual Draft systems make burning numerous kinds of solid fuels (anthracite and bituminous coal) possible. Matching the fuel being burned with how the combustion air enters the fire allows you to optimize the combustion making maximum efficiency achievable.

The two parts of our Dual Draft system are, a damper located on the loading door which brings air in on top of the fire. Air may also enter through the forced draft fan. Both of these options are controlled by an aquastat that senses the water temperature and will open and close them and maintain a constant water temperature. Only one of the parts may operate at a time. It can also be built to move without electricity.

The one thing that separates between our WC and WOC models is a burn chamber added to the boiler that allows an oil/gas/propane burner to be fitted on it. We use a different burn chamber so that you can create an excellent flame pattern, which allows the burner to operate effectively, and the since the burn chamber is separate from the main firebox it safeguards the burner’s nozzle.

The burner fires into the separate burn chamber which leads into the primary firebox and so regardless of whether you are burning oil or hard coal or soft coal, you only require one boiler system. The burner is powered by the boiler’s aquastat, as well.

An Automatic Switchover feature, from coal to oil if the water temperature falls because of lack of fire, is an available upgrade on all WOC models. The Automatic Switchover choice provides you the workability and freedom in knowing that your home will not go cold if you, for example, decide to take a break for the weekend.

The Multi-Fuel comes standard with:

  • Legacy Grate System
  • Huge 14” Stacking Door
  • Self-Activating Dual Draft System – Forced Draft Fan and Natural Draft Damper
  • Firebrick Lined Firebox
  • Water Cooled Baffle (for increased efficiency)
  • Hydro Approved to 60PSI
  • Made out of ¼” Steel Sheet
  • Honeywell Control Aquastat
  • Temperature/Pressure Gauge
  • ASME Approved Pressure Relief Valve
  • Load Door Smoke Flap
  • For WOC models – a separate Burner Chamber.

Our Multi-Fuel boilers’ cost of ownership is one of the cheapest out there! $40.00 – $80.00 every year on a whole!!

Conventionally, Multi-Fuel boilers have been marketed as wood/coal combinations, however, because of EPA Phase 2 rules, these units are no longer marketed for constant use with wood.

Propane/Natural Gas Backup

Fuel oil backup is most common for the WOC models but propane or natural gas backup alternatives are available for an extra cost.

Automatic /Manual Switching

For #2 fuel oil, the backup system can operate in an automatic change-over situation, with fuel oil taking control when the furnace has ended its coal fuel. For other fuels, such as natural gas or propane, change-over is manual only.

Domestic Coil

This Domestic Coil is capable of a 100° F rise at 5 gallons per minute, 50° water inlet temperature, and 65 PSI water pressure. It is threaded into a 4 IN NPT threaded fitting given on the boiler for this reason.

Insulation Jacket

Our base unit Multi-Fuel boilers have no insulation around the water vessel, allowing optimum heat radiation in the boiler room. If you opt to contain more of this heat, an insulation jacket can be added to the boiler. This insulation jacket is the same as that used on the Wood Gun or Coal Gun boilers.

ASME Certification

The ASME Certification verifies the steel quality and weld standard of the boiler water jacket. Each ASME Certified water jacket has been compressed to 60 PSI and comes with a 30 PSI release valve.

Low Water Cutoff

A Low Water Cutoff notices the water level in the boiler’s vessel and will shut the unit down if the water level falls to a dangerous level. Available with automatic reset or manual reset.
